Navigant Consulting acquires HJA Consulting

Navigant Consulting Inc. has acquired HJA Consulting, a provider of performance benchmarking and performance improvement studies to utilities that own hydroelectric facilities.

Navigant said the acquisition enhances its energy practice, which provides Generation Knowledge System benchmarking and performance im�prove�ment services. The company did not disclose financial details of the acquisition.

HJA Consulting has provided benchmarking and performance improvement information to hydro plant owners since 1994. Clients have used its Hydro Bench�marking Program to identify areas for improvement and to better align operations with their organization’s strategic direction. More than 350 stations, representing more than 80 percent of North American hydro capacity, have been benchmarked since the program’s inception. (HNN 6/8/06)

Chuck Haddon, founder of HJA Consulting, was appointed a managing director of Navigant Consulting. He said HJA Consulting’s expertise in performance improvement, utility benchmarking, and hydro generation performance modeling fits well with Navigant Consulting’s advisory services.

HJA Consulting operated from offices in the Atlanta, Ga., and Boston, Mass., metropolitan areas. Navigant Consulting is a consulting firm headquartered in Chicago that provides dispute, financial, regulatory, and operational advisory services.
