New bid date for grout system for Iraq’s 800-MW Mosul

The U.S. Army has revised the bidding deadline to supply an advanced injection grouting system for 800-MW Mosul Dam, the largest dam in Iraq, on the Tigris River in Ninewah Province. Bids now are due May 26.

In 2005, the Multi-National Force-Iraq reported an additional US$20 million in Iraq Reconstruction and Relief Funds was allocated to stabilize Mosul Dam. The reconstruction project includes an upgrade of specialized maintenance equipment, seismic monitors, materials, spare parts, and training.

The dam, which was completed in 1983, required grouting of leaks on a regular basis. The Department of the Army seeks new automatic grout injection equipment to help arrest seepage. All equipment and materials are to be manufactured new, commissioned, and delivered to the project site, with training provided.

The solicitation is being conducted via the U.S. FedBizOps system on the Internet at www.fbo.gov. For information, contact Robert Rinaldo, Contracting Specialist, Joint Contracting Command Iraq/Afghanistan, (1) 703-544-1515; E-mail: robert.rinaldo@pco-iraq.net.
