Nicaragua seeks equipment for 212-kW El Naranjo

Nicaragua’s Comision Nacional de Energia (CNE) seeks bids for turnkey equipment supply for the 212-kW El Naranjo hydroelectric project. Bids are due March 14.

With funding from Swiss, German, United Nations, and World Bank sources, the government is developing the small hydro project at Waslala, Nicaragua, under a program of small-scale hydropower development in off-grid areas.

CNE seeks turnkey installation, minus civil works, of a horizontal Pelton turbine, synchronous generator, and other equipment, plus interconnection to the 176-kW Rio Bravo project, a previous project in the development program.
