Nicaragua seeks impact studies of power sector investments

Nicaragua’s Ministerio de Energia y Minas invites expressions of interest from consultants to study environmental and social effects of its power sector investment program, including hydropower. Responses are due September 13.

With funding from the Inter-American Development Bank, the ministry seeks consultants to prepare environmental impact assessments of transmission and substation improvements and civil works associated with hydroelectric projects.

The consultant is to characterize the zones of subprojects, determine the magnitude of social and environmental effects, and propose solutions to mitigate identified effects. It also is to provide support to the ministry in licensing and environmental permitting.

Expressions of interest and qualifications are due to the address below by September 13.
