Nordt named general manager at Grant PUD

The commissioners of the Public Utility District No. 2 of Grant County (Grant PUD) have appointed Kevin Nordt the new general manager, effective June 3.

Nordt joined Grant PUD in 2004 and most recently served as chief financial officer. Before that, he was director of power management.

Before coming to Grant PUD, Nordt worked with Portland General Electric and Energy Northwest.

Nordt has a bachelor of science degree in mathematical physics from St. John’s University and a master of science degree in nuclear engineering and engineering physics from the University of Wisconsin.

The appointment follows a succession plan submitted by former General Manager Tony Webb, who will continue with the utility in a senior leadership capacity and assist with the transition over the coming months.

Grant PUD was created in 1938 and owns and operates the 955.6-MW Priest Rapids and 1,092-MW Wanapum projects on the Columbia River, as well as operating the 9.4-MW Quincy Chute and 6.5-MW Potholes East Canal projects.
