An agency of Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province (NWFP) invites expressions of interest from consultants to study, design, and supervise development of six small hydropower projects in the province. Responses are due October 16.
With funding sought from the Asian Development Bank for renewable energy sector development, NWFP’s autonomous agency Sarhad Hydel Development Organization (SHYDO) seeks consultants to carry out five work packages:
o Management, design, and supervision consultant for 36-MW Daral Khwar hydropower project, for an engineering-procurement-construction (EPC) contract;
o Management, design, and supervision consultant for 11.5-MW Ranolia Khwar hydropower project, for an EPC contract;
o Management, design, and supervision consultant for 2.6-MW Machai Canal hydropower project, for an EPC contract;
o Consultant for feasibility studies of three raw hydropower sites, 18-MW Koto in Dir District, 8-MW Jabori in Mansehra District, and 7.5-MW Karora (New) in Shangla District; and
o Architect-consultant for design and construction supervision of an office building, “SHYDO House,” at Hayatabad, Peshawar.
The management consultant team is to assist SHYDO in preparing and implementing project activities. Those include planning and design, procurement of goods and services, training for operation and maintenance, quality control, preparation of EPC contract documents, evaluation of bids, contract awards, supervision of physical work, resettlement plans, tariff studies, power purchase agreements, and identification and mitigation of environmental effects.
