Pakistan extends deadline to equip 3.96-MW Satpara 3, 4

Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has extended the deadline for bids to supply equipment for the 2.5-MW Satpara 3 and 1.46-MW Satpara 4 hydro plants on a canal in Pakistan’s Indus River system. Bids now are due October 4.

WAPDA noted construction of 12.7-MW Satpara 1 and 2 is nearing completion at Satpara Dam and that it intends to add the third and fourth powerhouses to the project. It initially sought equipment bids by September 5. (HNN 8/10/07)

It seeks bids for design, engineering, supply, installation, and commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment. Both plants are to have horizontal Francis turbines directly coupled to generators.

Satpara 3 is to have two 1.25-MW units, while Satpara 4 is to have two 730-kW units. Also included are supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, transformers, and an eight-kilometer transmission line.

Bid documents may be obtained from the address below for 12,000 rupees or US$200 by bank draft or pay order to General Manager Projects (Northern Area), Lahore. Bids are due by 10:30 a.m. October 4.
