Pakistan seeks carbon credit consultants for hydro

Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) seeks applications for pre-qualification from consultants to perform Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) studies for hydropower projects across the country. Responses are due February 14.

WAPDA said it seeks to obtain certification of hydro projects for issuance of carbon credits under the United Nations’ CDM program for reduction of greenhouse gases. It said the hydro projects are of various generating capacities and are located all over Pakistan.

The agency invites applications from carbon-credit dealing consultants and joint ventures of domestic and international consultants having experience in related activities as well as experience working in southern Asia.

Pre-qualification documents may be obtained from the address below upon payment of 1,000 rupees (US$16). WAPDA plans to name a short-list of firms that will be invited to submit proposals.
