Pakistan seeks consultants for power system expansion

Pakistan’s National Transmission and Dispatch Co. (NTDC) invites expressions of interest from consultants to develop a national power system expansion plan including hydropower assets. Responses are due August 18.

NTDC seeks multi-national and national consulting firms with expertise in national load forecasting, demand-side management, and hydrological analysis and assessment of water requirements and requirement of storage dams to meet irrigation demands.

The agency said the selected consultant also should have expertise in storage dam and run-of-river project identification, scrutiny, and screening. Other expertise needed includes thermal plant siting, fuel resources, generation power plan formulation, transmission systems, and economic, financial, environmental, and social analysis.
