Pakistan seeks engineering design for 28-MW Basho

Pakistan invites applications for expressions of interest for engineering design and tender preparation of the 28-MW Basho hydroelectric project in Pakistan’s Northern Areas. Responses are due April 3.

Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) said the government has approved the feasibility study of the project, on the Basho River in Skardu District. It would have a discharge of 3.5 cms and gross head of 949 meters.

WAPDA said the detailed engineering design and preparation of tender documents is to be undertaken by Pakistani consultants or a joint venture registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council.

Pre-qualification documents may be obtained from the address below for 2,000 rupees (US$33.20) Expressions of interest are due by noon April 3. WAPDA plans to invite a short-list of firms to submit proposals.
