Pakistani firm wins studies of three Pakistan hydro projects

Pakistani consultant Associated Consulting Engineers Pvt. Ltd. (ACE) has received a contract to perform feasibility studies of three hydropower projects in Pakistan’s Northwest Frontier Province (NWFP).

The Asian Development Bank announced that Pakistan’s Alternative Energy Development Board and the government of NWFP awarded a US$1.3 million contract to ACE to study three projects under NWFP’s executing agency, Sarhad Hydel Development Organization (SHYDO). The projects were not identified.

ADB last year lent Pakistan US$510 million under a renewable energy development sector investment program for a series of small hydro project �clusters� to be built in North West Frontier Province and Punjab Province. (HNN 7/21/08)

ACE and ILF Consulting Engineers of Austria recently were named to provide consulting services to develop the 36.6-MW Daral Khwar project in NWFP. (HNN 7/7/08)
