A special treat for hydro industry delegates — a hard-hat tour of 2,078-MW Hoover Dam — is featured at the Renewable Energy World Conference &Expo North America, March 10-12 in Las Vegas.
Renewable Energy World Conference &Expo North America, formerly POWER-GEN Renewable Energy and Fuels, is in its sixth year as renewable energy’s leading conference. It offers paper presentations, panel discussions, and technical sessions dealing with the full range of renewable energies including the hydroelectric, ocean/tidal/wave, wind, solar, biomass, bio-power, and bio-fuels hydrogen sectors.
The opening keynote session March 10 features a roundtable discussion by leaders of major renewable energy associations, including Executive Director Linda Church Ciocci of the National Hydropower Association, a supporting association of the Renewable Energy World Conference. In a unique question-and-answer format, renewables industry experts are to examine likely policy directions from a new president and Congress.
Multi-track conference sessions feature specialized meetings on the individual renewable technologies, as well as tracks on technology challenges and on policy, markets, and finance. The hydro track features sessions on meeting new energy demand in North America and lessons learned in developing ocean, tidal, and hydrokinetic projects.
The Hoover Dam Special Hard Hat Tour takes place March 9, during a day of pre-conference workshop activity. The private one-hour tour features a visit to the Arizona Balcony overlooking the giant generators, a walk along the generator floor, and visits to the shaft gallery, tailbay, and a network of dam inspection access tunnels.
Conference delegates also have opportunities to meet with about 300 companies presenting the latest in technology, equipment, and services. The exhibition hall is integral to the Renewable Energy World Conference &Expo North America, convening at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The conference flagship sponsor is Renewable Energy World Magazine. Renewable Energy World Conference &Expo North America is owned and produced by PennWell.
