Reunion Island seeks builders for 445-kW Bellevue, 220-kW Maniron

The government of Reunion Island invites applications for pre-qualification to build and equip two small hydropower projects on Reunion Island, a French overseas department off the east coast of Africa. Responses are due November 3.

The Department of Reunion seeks firms to build and equip the 445-kW Bellevue project and the 220-kW Maniron project on reservoirs of the same names of the irrigation network of Departemental d’Irrigation du Bras de Cilaos.

By 2025, the French territory wants to use renewable energy sources to produce 100 percent of its electricity. In June, Electricite de France awarded a contract to Alstom Hydro to supply a turbine-generator and other equipment to expand the 60-MW Riviere de l’Est hydroelectric project on Reunion Island. Qualification documents may be obtained from the address below or from the Internet site www.achatpublic.com. It also is possible to submit a pre-qualification application via the website.
