Senegal program seeks renovation, equipment for 250-MW Manantali Dam

The multi-nation Senegal River management agency seeks bids to rehabilitate and supply equipment at the 250-MW Manantali Dam project in Guinea. Bids in separate solicitations are due May 22 and June 22.

Organisation pour la Mise en Valeur du Fleuve Senegal (OMVS), which includes Senegal, Guinea, Mali, and Mauritania, seeks bids by 10 a.m. May 22 for rehabilitation of hydraulic equipment at Manantali Dam as well as renovation of a water treatment plant.

Additionally, OMVS seeks bids by 10 a.m. June 22 for various spare parts and miscellaneous turbine-generator equipment for Manantali’s hydropower project.

The Manantali energy management company, Societe de gestion de l’energie de Manantali, named South Africa utility Eskom Enterprises in 2001 to operate and maintain the existing Manantali Dam and its powerhouse, under construction on the Bafing River. (HNN 7/13/07)
