Slovenia utility seeks civil works bids for 42.5-MW Blanca

Slovenia utility Holding Slovenske Elektrarne (HSE) seeks bids for civil works construction at the 42.5-MW Blanca hydroelectric project on Slovenia’s Sava River. Bids are due May 7.

The utility seeks construction of embankments, dam, intake and outlet, fish passage, and related work. The work is valued at 18 million euros (US$23.5 million).

HSE last year called for bids for power plant construction and hydro-mechanical equipment at Blanca and the 39.5-MW Krsko hydroelectric project, also on the Sava. (HNN 2/28/06) The European Investment Bank approved a 130 million euro (US$154.5 million) power plant investment loan to finance construction and operation of Blanca, Krsko, and the 175-MW Avce pumped-storage project being built on the Soca River.
