Transformer sought for Finland’s 93-MW Ossauskoski

Finland utility Kemijoki Oy invites applications for pre-qualification by May 12 to supply a replacement transformer for the 93-MW Ossauskoski hydropower plant.

Kemijoki Oy previously awarded a contract to GE Energy (Finland) Oy to uprate and refurbish turbines at Ossauskoski. Ossauskoski was built from 1961-1965 at Tervola on Finland’s Kemijoki River.

In the current solicitation, Kemijoki Oy seeks a transformer of 92 megavolt-amperes, 220/10.5 kilovolts. Work is to be completed by February 2008.
