U.S. to seek machine monitors for Colorado River hydro plants

The Bureau of Reclamation plans to seek bids for machine monitors for its 86.4-MW Blue Mesa, 31.5-MW Crystal, and 173.334-MW Morrow Point hydropower plants, all in the 1,747.184-MW Colorado River Storage Project. The solicitation is expected about March 24.

Reclamation seeks a contractor to furnish machine monitors for five vertical-shaft hydroelectric generators in the three power plants, all on Colorado’s Gunnison River. The machine monitors can be individual units for each generator, or can be capable of monitoring two or more generators, Reclamation said.

A pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. 09SP408289 in the “Quick Search” box.

The solicitation is expected to be issued about March 24. For information, contact Leslie Corpening, (1) 801-524-3613; E-mail: lcorpening@uc.usbr.gov.
