UPDATE – BC Hydro resets bid date for work at 2,730-MW G.M. Shrum

Canada utility BC Hydro extended for a third time the due date for proposals to upgrade five turbines at its 2,730-MW G.M. Shrum hydroelectric project on the Peace River in British Columbia. Bids now are due Nov. 26.

BC Hydro previously extended the closing date for proposals to Nov. 14 and then to Nov. 21. (HNN 11/14/08)

The contractor is to supply and install upgraded turbine runners and associated equipment for Units 1-5 in the ten-unit powerhouse, at W.A.C. Bennett Dam, west of Hudson’s Hope.

The province-owned utility previously called for proposals by Oct. 17 to upgrade station service equipment at G.M. Shrum over several years. (HNN 10/10/08)
