UPDATE – Corps again resets deadline for 120-MW Lookout Point

The Corps of Engineers once again extended the deadline for bids to replace runners and refurbish other equipment for the three turbines at 120-MW Lookout Point Dam in Lowell, Ore.

The new bidding deadline is extended to Nov. 8 from Oct. 31. (HNN 9/13/07) The original due date of May 31 was extended to Aug. 10, to Sept. 27, and then to Oct. 31.

The contractor selected is to design, manufacture, and test a scale model replacement runner and appurtenances for a Francis-type turbine. Following model tests, the government will provide the contractor formal written notice to proceed with fabrication and delivery of the equipment.

Lookout Point began operation in 1954 on the Middle Fork of the Willamette River.
