UPDATE – Corps extends turbine deadline for 120-MW Lookout Point

The Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for bids to replace runners and refurbish associated equipment for the three turbines at 120-MW Lookout Point Dam in Lowell, Ore.

The bidding deadline was extended to Sept. 27 from Aug. 10.

The contractor is to design, manufacture, and test a scale model replacement runner and appurtenances for a Francis-type turbine. (HNN 5/23/07) After model tests are executed and documented, the government will provide the contractor with formal written notice to proceed with fabrication and delivery of the equipment.

Lookout Point began operation in 1954 on the Middle Fork of the Willamette River.

The solicitation, No. W9127N-07-R-0005, may be obtained on the Internet by registering on the Federal Technical Data Solution (FedTeDS) website, www.fedteds.gov.
