UPDATE – German utility seeks more bids for 105-MW Iffezheim

German utility EnBW has issued several more solicitations seeking various equipment to expand the 105-MW Iffezheim hydroelectric project on the Rhine River. Response dates range from March 30 to April 17.

Iffezheim has four turbine-generators operating with flows of 275 cms each and a head of 10 meters. EnBW and its operating unit, Rheinkraftwerk Iffezheim GmbH, plan to expand the project to accommodate a fifth generating unit. (HNN 3/8/07)

Steel work, foundation engineering

The owners seek bids, in German, for steel work March 30. The solicitation includes three lots comprising an intake rake, a gantry crane, and a powerhouse drainage system and fire extinguishing system, and related equipment. Work is to be carried out from January 2008 to July 2010.

EnBW also invites applications for pre-qualification for engineering and construction work April 5. Work involves foundation engineering, excavation, reconstruction of a road bridge, adjustment of turbine intakes, integration with an existing fish ladder, and other work. EnBW plans to issue a tender solicitation to selected companies May 4.
