UPDATE – Governor work bid date extended for 52-MW Sam Rayburn

The Corps of Engineers has extended its deadline by one week for proposals to upgrade governors at 52-MW Sam Rayburn Dam on the Angelina River north of Jasper, Texas. Bids now are due June 8.

The contractor is to provide personnel, equipment, oversight, and management to convert mechanical-hydraulic governors of two generating units to new independent and dedicated digital governors, controls, and monitoring systems. (HNN 3/23/07) Work on the second generator will not begin until the government accepts the completed work on the first generator.
