UPDATE – Montenegro invites consultant bids for 342-MW Piva

Montenegro utility Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) has firmed up a due date for bids for technical assistance to rehabilitate and modernize the 342-MW Piva hydroelectric project. Responses now are due January 29.

With 16 million euros (US$20.4 million) in credits from Germany’s Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KfW), EPCG plans refurbishment of electrical and electro-mechanical equipment and civil structures. (HNN 11/3/06) In 2004, EPCG awarded a contract worth 1.04 million euros (US$1.28 million) to Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation for first phase reconstruction of electro-mechanical equipment.

The current tender is for a technical assistance contract to total 1.2 million euros (US$1.5 million). Work is to include testing to assess rehabilitation needs, cost estimates, preliminary design and feasibility study, tender design, and assistance in contracting and supervision of works.
