UPDATE – New bid date again for India’s 111-MW Sawra Kuddu

India’s Himachal Pradesh Power Corp. Ltd. (HPPC) again extended the deadline for bids for civil work, gates, and hoisting equipment for the 111-MW Sawra Kuddu hydroelectric project on the Pabbar River in Himachal Pradesh State. Bids now are due May 14.

HPPC previously called for bids by April 30 and April 8. (HNN 4/13/09) HPPC awarded a contract to Patel Engineering Ltd. of India for construction of the Sawra Kuddu powerhouse complex. It also awarded a contract to VA Tech Hydro Pvt. India Ltd. and VA Tech EWF Pvt. Ltd of India to supply electro-mechanical equipment.

HPPC currently seeks bids for construction of Sawra Kuddu’s diversion tunnel, power intake, desanding arrangement, and gates and hoisting equipment.

Bid documents, in English, may be obtained from the address below for 20,000 rupees or US$500. Courier delivery costs an additional 500 rupees for domestic delivery or US$50 for overseas delivery. HPPC now also is making bid documents available on the state Internet site, www.himachal.nic.in.
