UPDATE – Pakistan extends Winder Dam bid deadline a sixth time

Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) extended the deadline a sixth time for bids for civil construction and steel work of the Winder Dam storage project on the Winder River in Balochistan Province. Bids now are due February 24.

Previous deadlines were January 22, October 23, August 29, July 24, June 26, and May 28. (HNN 10/22/08) The solicitation is a reissuance of a tender previously offered in 2007.

The engineering-procurement-construction contract includes civil engineering works for: contractors camp, offices, housing, roads, telecommunications, and electrical; road relocation; diversion arrangements; main dam; dike; fuse plug; spillway; dam outlet works; main canal and distributaries; and drainage structures. Electro-mechanical works include hydraulic steel works for design, supply, and installation of gates and miscellaneous equipment.

The work is to require 46 months.
