UPDATE – Pakistan seeks construction management for Winder Dam

Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) seeks bids from firms to serve as turnkey management consultant for construction of the Winder Dam storage project on the Winder River in Balochistan Province. Bids are due about October 17.

WAPDA, which already is seeking bids for civil construction and steel work for Winder Dam, has extended that tender date to November 15. (HNN 10/4/07)

The project includes a 31-meter-tall, 517-meter-long earth core rockfill dam with live storage capacity of 36,167 acre-feet; an ogee-type gated spillway with design capacity of 52,000 cubic meters per second; a 14-meter-tall, 387-meter-long auxiliary dam; fuse plug; intake structure; and 36-kilometer irrigation system.

Firms and joint ventures registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council are invited to submit proposals for management consulting on an engineering-procurement-construction basis.

Tender documents may be obtained from the address below for 500 rupees or US$10, plus 300 rupees for delivery within Pakistan and US$35 for overseas delivery.

WAPDA said two-part bids — technical and financial proposals — are due no later than 42 days from the September 5 solicitation publication date, expected to be October 17.
