UPDATE – U.S. extends sluiceway bid date for 532-MW Bonneville First

The Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for bids to modify an ice and trash sluiceway at the 532-MW Bonneville First Powerhouse to improve downstream fish passage. Bids now are due Sept. 5.

The Corps said it needs a contractor to remove structural, mechanical, and electrical components of a juvenile fish bypass system at the project, on the Columbia River in Oregon. (HNN 7/11/08) The contractor also is to fabricate and install new sluiceway entrance gates and components, and modify powerhouse concrete. The Corps said the work is expected to cost from $5 million to $10 million.
