U.S. awards water management, flood control contract

The Bureau of Reclamation awarded a $50 million contract to URS Corp. to provide engineering services to the government’s Mid-Pacific Regional Office in Sacramento. That office serves northern and central California, central Nevada, and part of southern Oregon.

Under terms of the five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, URS is to provide engineering support for water resource projects in the California Bay-Delta and flood control projects in California’s Central Valley. Services are to include water availability and economic studies, natural resources planning, and endangered species and cultural resources assessments.

The San Francisco-based URS said it is experienced in providing engineering support services for water resource projects, particularly in California, where it is working on a risk management contract with the California Department of Water Resources on Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta levees.
