U.S.-based infrastructure design firm acquires Con-Cool

Robert Ober & Associates, Inc. has acquired Con-Cool, LLC of the United Kingdom and its parent company, Concrete Temperature Control, Inc. of Belleview, Wash., HydroWorld.com has learned.

Robert Ober‘s Plant Architects + Plant Outfitters enterprises provide design, engineering and specialty contracting firms with design-build services for the aggregate and concrete production sectors of hydro construction.

Already, the company’s American operations have provided complete concrete and cooling systems for domestic hydropower projects, including the McAlpine Lock and Dam, Portugese Dam, Bluestone Dam, the San Vicente pumped-storage project, Folsom Dam, Cannelton and Willow Island projects.

The company said its acquisition of ConCool is intended to help expand its concrete cooling services both domestically and internationally, with the business to be operated independently and headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo.
