U.S. solicits excitation equipment for 25-MW Yakima

The Bureau of Reclamation seeks proposals to replace excitation systems at its 12-MW Chandler and 12.937-MW Roza power plants, part of the Yakima hydroelectric project on the Yakima River in Washington. Proposals are due May 13.

BuRec seeks a contractor to furnish and install two static excitation systems at Chandler, northeast of Prosser, Wash., and one static excitation system at Roza, northeast of Yakima, Wash. (HNN 7/31/07) The agency estimates the work would cost from $1 million to $5 million.

A pre-bid site visit is planned April 25. Participants are to meet at BuRec’s Upper Columbia Area Office, Roza Power Plant, 1917 Marsh Road, Yakima, WA 98901-2058. Prospective bidders planning to attend should contact the project construction office at (1) 509-575-5848, extension 291.
