U.S. to procure runners for 154.4-MW J.F. Carr

The Bureau of Reclamation’s Mid-Pacific Region plans to issue a solicitation for replacement runners, cones, and stationary wear rings for two 85-MW turbines at its 154.4-MW J.F. Carr powerhouse near Redding in Shasta County, Calif.

The government said it anticipates issuing the solicitation in May and awarding a contract in June.

Work will include furnishing and testing one hydraulic turbine model and furnishing and delivering two stainless steel vertical Francis-type turbine runners, nose cones, coupling bolts and aluminum-bronze stationary wearing rings. The contract also is to include options to furnish and deliver new wicket gates, refurbished wicket gates, and aluminum-bronze facing plates.

BuRec reviewed the results of a market survey of industry to help determine potential sources and interested parties before deciding that it would issue the solicitation. A summary of the solicitation — 06-SP-202056 — is on the Internet at http://ideasec.nbc.gov.

Prospective contractors must be registered and certified prior to award. Information is available from the Internet on Central Contractor Registration at http://www.ccr.gov and on Annual Representations and Certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov.
