U.S. to replace governors at 517.8-MW Garrison

The federal government is soliciting proposals to replace governors at the Corps of Engineers’ 517.8-MW Garrison Dam on the Missouri River in Garrison, N.D. Proposals are due Aug. 8.

The contractor will have 355 days to furnish, install, and test new governor controls and accessories and digital retrofits for Units 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Work includes removal and disposal of existing governor mechanical controls. The Corps estimates the work will range from $750,000 to $1 million.

Documents for Solicitation No. W9128F-06-R-0018 are to be posted on the Federal Technical Data Solutions (FedTeDs) Internet site. First-time users must register on the site, www.fedteds.gov. Additionally, on-line registration is required of bidders in the Central Contractor Registration database, www.ccr.gov.
