U.S. utility plans generator upgrades at 1,038-MW Wanapum Dam

Grant County Public Utility District No. 2 is pre-qualifying bidders for high voltage electrical work to upgrade ten generators at the 1,038-MW Wanapum Dam powerhouse, part of the 1,893-MW Priest Rapids project in Washington. Proposals are due by 2:30 p.m. July 5.

Contractors wanting to pre-qualify for the solicitation (No. 330-2251) must submit an application to Grant County PUD, 15655 Wanapum Village Lane, S.W., Beverly, WA 99321. Grant County says applicants should have a minimum 15 years’ experience in design, scheduling, manufacturing, and installation, and ten years’ experience in working on hydro generators with stator cores and single-turn bar-type windings.

Copies of the application are available at the district’s Ebid Internet site, http://grantpud.ebidsystems.com. Vendors will be required to register if not in the electronic vendor system.
