VA Tech Hydro to supply impellers for Swiss hydro complex

Owners of Switzerland’s 2,099-MW Cleuson-Dixence hydroelectric complex have awarded a contract to VA Tech Hydro to supply pump impellers for a pumping station that is part of the complex.

VA Tech Hydro is to supply three impellers for pumps at the Arolla pumping station, one of five stations, with Z’Mutt, Stafel, Ferpecle, and Cleuson. The stations feed water from the Rhone River to Cleuson-Dixence’s four power plants, 1,269-MW Bieudron, 290-MW Fionnay, 390-MW Nendaz, and 150-MW Chandoline.

Cleuson-Dixence SA awarded the contract on behalf of project owners EOS Holding and Grande Dixence SA.
