Vattenfall seeks hydraulic equipment for 114-MW Langbjorn

Vattenfall AB Vattenkraft invites applications for pre-qualification to replace hydraulic equipment for intake gates of the 114-MW Langbjorn hydroelectric plant on Sweden’s Angermanalven River. Responses are due December 15.

Vattenfall plans to seek bids for refurbishment of intake gates and gate operating equipment for turbine-generator Units G1 and G2 to be carried out from February 2007 though December 2007.

Bidding documents may be obtained from the address below. Applications for pre-qualification, in Swedish, are due to the address below by December 15. The utility plans to invite bids from a maximum of ten short-listed firms.

VG Power to refurbish Langbjorn generators

Vattenfall AB Vattenkraft awarded a contract to VG Power AB of Sweden to refurbish generators G1 and G2 at Langbjorn.

VG Power was one of two bidders for the generator work, to be carried out though December 2007. (HNN 3/1/06)

Vattenfall previously awarded a contract to NCC Construction Sverige AB to perform rehabilitation construction for Langbjorn. VA Tech EBG Transformatoren GmbH &Co. received a contract to supply a replacement transformer. (HNN 10/12/06)
