Voith Hydro’s After Market Division and Peak Hydro Services have merged to form Voith Hydro Services, HydroWorld.com has learned.

The merger, announced at HydroVision International 2012, is intended to create a “one-stop shop and full-service provider for turbine and generator parts and repair.”

Voith says its 135 years of experience in supplying turbines and generators in the United States and Peak Hydro’s 27 years of weld repair, field machining and site maintenance are a perfect complement for each other.

Voith Hydro Services will have offices in York, Pa.; Springfield, Ore.; and Chattanooga, Tenn.

“Our customers can turn to any of our three offices for a customized solution to whatever problem may arises, says Voith Hydro Services President Rodney Orwick. “We look forward to continuing and strengthening our shared history in the hydropower repair and service industry.

The company says it is the global original equipment manufacturer for AEG/Hydro, Alis-Chalmers, Ansald, Fuji Electric/Hydro, Hydro-Art, Kossler, Riva, Riva Hydroart, S. Morgan Smith, Shanghai Hydro-Power, Siemens, Tosi, Valley Iron Works, VG Power and Westinghouse.

“Voith Hydro Services will combine the strengths of Voith Hydro’s two after market divisions to provide our customers with unparalleled service for their hydropower parts and repair needs,” Orwick says.
