Webcast: Diagnostic Services: Hybrid Intelligence for Maintenance Optimization

OnPerformance.Lab

On Oct. 20, Voith Hydro experts will present a webcast called Diagnostic Services: Hybrid Intelligence for Maintenance Optimization.

Hydropower plants have moved from traditional operation to frequent mode changes and increased operation under suboptimal conditions. As the thereby increased maintenance demand has to be met despite reduced operations and maintenance budgets, maintenance has to become more intelligent and easier to plan and has to be based on the actual condition of the equipment. To achieve this goal, Voith has set up a data expertise center called the OnPerformance.Lab. The OnPerformance.Lab, a multi-disciplinary team of experts in data analytics and hydropower, provides diagnostic services, lifting maintenance planning to the next level.

With almost four years of running services, Voith Hydro experts will present their experiences of diagnostic services delivery in hydropower business. Presenting the service solutions, major findings, new aspects and future potentials are the major focus topics of this webinar.

The presenters are Dr. Thomas Mahnke, global product manager, and Dr. Alexander Jung, head of digital hydro solutions, Voith Hydro Holding GmbH & Co. KG.

Dr. Mahnke is global product manager for Voith Hydro’s digital services and co-development projects, with a focus on OnPerformance.Lab solutions. With a doctorate in economics, he has several years of experience as a product manager, lecturer and strategy consultant with an emphasis on product and innovation management in industrial services. In his position, he has the strategic responsibility for digital services and is in close contact with customers, development and sales.

Dr. Jung is in charge of digital technology developments of Voith Hydro. He holds a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering and applies 25 years of experience in the design of power generation equipment combined with methods and science know-how in technical product development. He started at Voith more than 15 years ago as hydraulic designer for large Francis and pump turbines.

The webinar, sponsored by Voith Hydro, takes place at 10 am EDT in the U.S., and a certificate of attendance will be offered.
