Weisinger appointed director of engineering for Kingsbury

Fred Weisinger has been named director of engineering for Kingsbury, responsible for engineering and research and development.

Weisinger has more than 30 years of experience in the rotating equipment industry, most of that time in the fluid-film bearing industry.

He has held a variety of positions at Kingsbury, including assistant chief engineer, chief engineer, manager of the repair and service division and manager of technical support services.

Weisinger is a member of the technical papers committee for HydroVision International and the program committee for POWER-GEN International.

He has a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Drexel University.

Kingsbury designs and manufactures tilt-pad fluid film thrust and journal bearings for all types of rotting machinery.

Kingsbury’s thrust bearing technology was patented in 1912, and we recently reported on their use at the 62-MW Cabot Station in Massachusetts.
