Renewables consulting firm Wood Group has named Jan Dell as its vice president of clean energy.

Dell brings more than two decades of experience in the energy, industrial, water and climate sectors with stops at AECOM, CH2M Hill and ConocoPhillips in senior strategy and management positions.

Dell also currently serves as vice chair on the U.S. Federal Advisory Committee for the Sustained National Climate Assessment, and was the convening lead author of the Energy Supply and Use Chapter in the 2014 U.S. National Climate Assessment report.

Dell will be based in the Scotland-based company’s office in Houston.

“The appointment of Jan provides us with the leadership to further growth,” said Bob MacDonald, CEO of the Wood Group’s Specialists Technical Solutions arm. “Clean energy, water and climate are primary considerations of the energy and industrial sectors that we serve, and our focus and our aim is to provide customers with efficient and effective solutions to the challenges they face.”

The company has, over the past 14 years, provided technical, consulting and advisory services for a number of conventional hydropower and wave energy projects before expanding into the wind, solar and biomass sectors.

“Wood Group’s expertise across the spectrum of energy resources and value chain is a dynamic platform to advance the global energy transition that is under way,” Dell said. “I’m pleased to join the launch of the clean energy group and bring my passion for progress to the enterprise.”
