NHA opposes FERC plan for earlier start of hydro license annual charges

The National Hydropower Association has urged the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to abandon proposed new rules that would change the start date for assessment of annual charges on private hydropower licensees to two years from the date of license issuance.

U.S. extends bidding for gantry crane at Idaho’s Ririe Dam

The Bureau of Reclamation has extended the deadline for bids to supply and install a five-ton monorail gantry crane at Ririe Dam on Willow Creek in Idaho. A new site visit is scheduled Jan. 15, with bids due Jan. 30, 2015.

Nile Equatorial Lakes states invite expressions of interest from consultants to perform fish studies for the proposed 80-MW Rusumo Falls hydroelectric project on the Kagera River. Responses are due January 9, 2015.

U.S. extends bidding for bridge crane rehabilitation at 320-MW Fort Randall Dam

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has extended the deadline for bids for mechanical and structural rehabilitation of bridge cranes and a lifting beam at the 320-MW Fort Randall hydroelectric project on the Missouri River in South Dakota. Questions may be submitted by Jan. 5 with bids now due Jan. 14, 2015.
