Alstom wins Reclamation contract for work at Trinity hydropower plant

SACRAMENTO, Calif. 3/13/12 (PennWell) — Alstom Power Inc., has been awarded a US$12 million contract by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation for the replacement of turbine runners and overhaul units at the Trinity hydroelectric project.

Reclamation last solicited bids for work at the 140-MW hydropower facility in November 2011.

As per terms of the contract, Alstom is to fabricate and test a hydraulic turbine model; furnish two stainless steel vertical Francis turbine runners, nose cones and appurtenant components for Trinity Units 1 and 2; and furnish coupling bolts, wear rings, wicket gates, shaft sleeves and other parts.
