International manufacturing powerhouses Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. and Siemens AG have announced a US$12.2 billion plan to take over French conglomerate Alstom.

Project operator Lansi-Suomen Voima Oy has awarded a contract to equipment manufacturer Alstom to provide retrofit and upgrade services at its 72-MW Harjavalta hydropower plant in Finland.
