U.S. seeks stator wedges, HVAC replacement at 2,457.3-MW Chief Joseph

SEATTLE, Wash., U.S. 3/30/12 (PennWell) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids for generator stator wedges and for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system replacement at 2,457.3-MW Chief Joseph Dam near Bridgeport, Wash. Bids in separate solicitations are due April 9 and April 12.

The Corps recently awarded a $2.9 million contract to A.W. Schell Electrical Services Inc. to perform AC and DC system upgrades at Chief Joseph. It also called for bids April 3 for wire rope replacement for the spillway

In a set-aside for small business, the Corps’ Seattle District now seeks bids April 9 to replace generator stator wedges, stator slot filler material, ripple springs, and associated packing materials to fulfill critical maintenance requirements. The items require custom manufacturing for Westinghouse generators 1-16 in Powerhouse 1 and General Electric generators 17-27 in Powerhouse 2.

U.S. seeks stator winding rewedge at 151.95-MW Flaming Gorge

DUTCH JOHN, Utah, U.S. 12/19/11 (PennWell) — The Bureau of Reclamation seeks bids for a generator stator winding rewedge at the 151.95-MW Flaming Gorge hydroelectric project in northeastern Utah. Bids are due Dec. 30.

Reclamation completed a $5.34 million rehabilitation program in 2008 at Flaming Gorge, on the Green River. One of five power plants in the Colorado River Storage Project, Flaming Gorge was built in the early 1960s.

The agency seeks bids to inspect and repair one stator winding rewedge.
