U.S. to seek flowmeters for 66.8-MW Fremont Canyon

The Bureau of Reclamation plans to seek bids to install flowmeters in two penstocks of the 66.8-MW Fremont Canyon hydroelectric project on the North Platte River in Wyoming.

A solicitation is expected to be issued in June with bids due about July 13.

Reclamation recently awarded a $3.1 million contract to Voith Hydro to supply two replacement turbine runners for Fremont Canyon. Fremont Canyon and the 38-MW Glendo project form the Glendo Unit of the Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin Project.

The agency plans to take bids for supply and installation of ultrasonic flowmeters for two penstocks, U1 and U2. The work is valued at $250,000 to $500,000.

A pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. R11PS60222 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
