Three regional utilities of Bosnia and Herzegovina invite expressions of interest from consultants to assist in dam safety and rehabilitation work at several hydroelectric projects. Responses are due September 17.
The European Investment Bank has approved a 103 million euro (US$134.7 million) loan to Bosnia and Herzegovina for rehabilitation of hydroelectric plants and electricity distribution systems. The work is part of the Energy Community of Southeast Europe APL 3 Project (ECSE). (HNN 1/11/07)
The assignment is to provide technical assistance to the project implementation units (PIU) of the three utilities, Elektroprivreda of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elektroprivreda Hrvatske Zajednice Herceg-Bosne, and Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske, in design, procurement, contract administration, and supervision of dam safety components of the ECSE project.
The current contract is to provide services under jurisdictions of the utilities:
o Elektroprivreda of Bosnia and Herzegovina: rehabilitation of Kukovi landslide and landslide monitoring system at the 181.2-MW Jablanica hydro project (HNN 11/2/06); rehabilitation of dam monitoring systems of Jablanica, 57-MW Grabovica, and 210-MW Salakovac hydro projects; and actions to address water leakage at Grabovica and Salakovac;
o Elektroprivreda Hrvatske Zajednice Herceg-Bosne: rehabilitation of reinforced concrete facing and grout curtain of 161-MW Rama Dam; and
o Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske: actions to address leakage at 315-MW Visegrad Dam and Trebinje 2; and augmentation of spillway capacity at the 110-MW Bocac hydro plant.
Work is expected to begin by the end of 2007 and require up to 40 person-months.
