Corps plans meeting on solicitation for hydro construction work

The Corps of Engineers’ Little Rock District is recruiting firms interested in construction work that could involve building powerhouses and dams in several states.

The Corps is organizing a meeting for Feb. 26 to discuss a planned solicitation that could lead to the award of two multiple awards task order contracts for construction.

Tasks could include planning, design, installation, and construction of powerhouses and dams, and of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevators, and fire protection measures.

While most of the work will be performed in the Little Rock District, which consists of Arkansas and southern Missouri, tasks also are anticipated for the Southwestern Division’s Fort Worth, Galveston, and the Tulsa districts. The Corps anticipates the needs of the Southwestern Division program would exceed $100 million over five years.

The meeting, billed as an industry day, is scheduled for Feb. 26 in the Main Auditorium at the University of Arkansas, 2301 S. University Ave., Little Rock, AR 72203. For information, contact Darrell Montgomery, contract specialist, E-mail:
