Turkey seeks bidders for dam, tunnel of 30-MW Bagbasi

Turkey’s General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSi) invites applications for pre-qualification to build Bagbasi Dam and Mavi Tunnel (Blue Tunnel) of the 30-MW Bagbasi project. Responses are due August 15.

Work is to include construction of a 109-meter-tall concrete-faced rockfill dam and a tunnel with interior diameter of 4 meters. A tunnel-boring machine is to be used to bore 17,061 meters of the tunnel, with the remaining 995 meters bored by conventional method.

Work is to begin within 30 days of contract notification at the site on the Goksu River in Hadim District, Koyna Province. Work is to be completed in 1,800 calendar days.

Pre-qualification documents must be purchased from the address below for 1,000 lira (US$615).

Applications for pre-qualification must be hand-delivered or sent by registered and reply-paid letter by 2 p.m. August 15 to General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSi), Department of Dams and HEPPS Meeting Room, Yucetepe/Ankara, Turkey.

The work is to be carried out with credits supplied by the contractor, so bidders are to submit credit bids with commercial bids. Applications made in the form of consortia will not be accepted.
