The U.S. Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC) seeks bids to supply flow meters for the 63-MW Falcon Dam hydroelectric project at Falcon Heights, Texas. Bids are due Sept. 2.
The agency recently said it would seek bids for concrete plugging of a penstock gate at 132-MW Amistad Dam at Del Rio, Texas. Inspectors found in 2007 that both Falcon and Amistad could be unsafe due to questions about seepage and stability, urging additional studies. (HydroWorld 8/28/07)
In the current solicitation, USIBWC seeks price quotes for supply, installation, calibration, and certification of three flow meters in the project penstock, two flow meters in hollow jet valves, and installation and connections to the control room unit control panel.
A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. IBM11Q0023 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
