Corps reissues call for crane rehab at 558-MW Bonneville Second

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has reissued a call for bids to rehabilitate an intake gantry crane at the 558-MW Second Powerhouse of 1,076.6-MW Bonneville Dam, on the Columbia River in Oregon. Bids are due Aug. 31.

The Corps’ Portland District previously called for bids Aug. 24 and June 28 of 2010. It then announced in May it expected to reissue the solicitation.

The intake gantry crane rehabilitation is to include the main and auxiliary hoist systems, with replacement of all electrical and mechanical equipment including motors and controls. A new operator cab and a new electrical equipment enclosure are to be installed. The work is valued at between $1 million and $5 million.
