Czech developer extends bid date to build Velky Osek small hydro

Czech developer MVE Velky Osek s.r.o. has extended the deadline for bids to build a powerhouse for the Velky Osek small hydropower project in the Czech Republic. Bids now are due November 14.

MVE Velky Osek previously called for bids by October 20 for construction of a powerhouse and switchyard at the existing Velky Osek weir and lock. (HNN 9/5/08) The structure eventually is to house three Kaplan turbine-generators.

The developer also increased the estimated maximum cost of the project to 95 million koruny (US$4.8 million). It previously estimated the work would cost between 40 million and 65 million koruny (US$2.3 million to US$3.75 million).

The work is to be performed between December 2008 and January 2010.

Tender documents, in Czech, originally were available from the address below until September 30. MVE Velky Osek did not indicate it was extending that deadline.
